The Scotty Wilson character was played by Jim Troesh (1956-2011). Troesh was an actor, screenwriter and entertainment industry disability advocate. He was paralyzed at the age of 14 following an accident in the family home, rendering him quadriplegic for the rest of his life - one of very few quadriplegic actors to be successful in the entertainment industry and the first quadriplegic actor to ever join the Screen Actors Guild.
Another typical end to a Highway to Heaven episode -- there are tears in my eyes. I feel sorry for those who don't see the beauty in the show or its warmth and compassion.
I don't understand how there are people who dislike this. This kind of TV series are full of everything we, human beings, need to learn for living our lives with love and friendship. This is the real meaning of life.
I turned off my TV almost 4 yrs ago. I dont miss it or the big cable bill either. If i want to watch news i get online or read the paper to keep up with the world and local events .theres just junk programming on TV and a huge waste of time anyway.
Highway to Heaven is definitely the best, most inspirational, uplifting, thought-provoking series ever! Each episode contains such important life lessons. There is nothing like it today. So much that passes for 'entertainment these days is absolute trash!

I was watching a documentary on Micheal Landon a while back. Strangely a total of 5 actors from the cast of Little House on the Prairie died of certain cancers. They think it possibly had something to do with some kind of nuclear site not far from the setting of the show. Coincidence maybe but bizarre

Now you probably know how critical it is when an artist should decide springing off a show. 😬 It could bring a show to 🤪 death by a sharp decline of ratings like many feared CSI Miami would drop out after Speed (Rory Cochrane) left the show around 3rd season. Speaking of good shows.. do you remember Danger Bay ('85 - '90)? It was a canadian production. Loved the idea of the show.. and so did Missing, Ashley Judds whose show survived for 10 episodes ONLY!!! 🤯 Both shows experienced cancellation.. also, Judging Amy, Cold Case...etc... James Troesh was 27 when he appeared in this episode. He died at the age of 54 on October 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA. He became a quadriplegic falling off a roof at the age of 14. RIP James 😢

I forgot that James Troesh was is several episodes. I am so sad to have just learned that he also passed away. Victor French died a few months after the show was canceled---from lung cancer, which was a reoccurring joke in the show. And I remember very clearly when Michael was dying and how cold the media was to him and him being on one of the late-night shows. Maybe Carson?

Jonathan did not die while being Scotty's friend - he became Scotty's friend while an angel. Jonathan's human form died decades before - one of the shows show him with his wife, her elderly and him in his current form.

I totally agree. It is definitely called unconditional love. I have a boyfriend who is like that and I love him very much. I wish we could get married but if we do we get penalized i’ve been trying to fight this for a very long time. @@tabandken8562 A couple of things going to play. I live in the state of Rhode Island. They told us that we could get married but a couple of things could happen. One if I did get married to my boyfriend I found out from a relative of mine that. We would have to pay more taxes. Which I didn’t know second of all we would only get one check from the state. And it would be less if the if we got married to me that’s wrong. The sad part is the state of Rhode Island doesn’t recognize us as human beings. They treat us like numbers and letters. It’s almost as if we don’t exist.
I liked this episode but be wary of jumping into a marriage quickly. It's wise to get to know a man or woman before you ask them to marry you. You could end up marrying a person that will make your life hell. I think six months to a year is a good amount of time to get to know someone and please use fasting, and prayer and ask God if it is right before you do marry.
There are many, many things that need to be discussed before marriage regardless of how much in love we are. Those things include where you will live, who works, who handles money, how many children you plan to have, the list is endless. You need to know if you are on the same "wavelength" for those basic things. The most important of all is to be best friends and to trust and respect each other. Without those three things, it just cannot last - it's a tough world out there. True friendship, trust, and respect - with those three things, you can make it through anything.

I totally agree. It is definitely called unconditional love. I have a boyfriend who is like that and I love him very much. I wish we could get married but if we do we get penalized i’ve been trying to fight this for a very long time. And to me it’s totally unfair the way people with disabilities are treated when it comes to marriage.. Innoway I feel we are being discriminated against.

@@tabandken8562 A couple of things going to play. I live in the state of Rhode Island. They told us that we could get married but a couple of things could happen. One if I did get married to my boyfriend I found out from a relative of mine that. We would have to pay more taxes. Which I didn’t know second of all we would only get one check from the state. And it would be less if the if we got married to me that’s wrong. The sad part is the state of Rhode Island doesn’t recognize us as human beings. They treat us like numbers and letters. It’s almost as if we don’t exist.
I liked this episode but be wary of jumping into a marriage quickly. It's wise to get to know a man or woman before you ask them to marry you. You could end up marrying a person that will make your life hell. I think six months to a year is a good amount of time to get to know someone and please use fasting, and prayer and ask God if it is right before you do marry.
There are many, many things that need to be discussed before marriage regardless of how much in love we are. Those things include where you will live, who works, who handles money, how many children you plan to have, the list is endless. You need to know if you are on the same "wavelength" for those basic things.
The most important of all is to be best friends and to trust and respect each other. Without those three things, it just cannot last - it's a tough world out there. True friendship, trust, and respect - with those three things, you can make it through anything.
